Airlines to Continue To Attract Customers, Battle in Sky Still On

Travelling by air is now becoming cheaper day by day. Airlines to attract customers are offering various types of promotional discounts which is bringing the domestic fare up to pocket friendly prices. The frequency of the travelers have gradually increased if compare from the previous years. This is helping domestic airlines to generate profits quarter to quarter. Talking about the current scenario, flyers are delighted by cheaper airline fares both for domestic as well as internationally. For the domestic, airlines have gone 25-35% cheaper and the international airlines have gone 15-20% cheaper if compared to previous year. The rising fuel prices shall throw an impact on the profit earnings of the airlines, despite of this airlines are continuously building strategies to attract more and more customers.

Airlines such as Vistara, SpiceJet and Air India have continued to drop fare prices and shall be in the competition with the competitors. Unlike these, Indigo has denied to revise it pricing policy. The best game of the fare has already begun, as the fare has got cheaper for the last minute bookings , this is stated by the John Nair, head of business travel at travel agency Cox and Kings.

Diwakar Parek, vice-president of online revenue at travel portal MakeMyTrip said- “The average domestic fares in the April-June quarter have decreased by up to 25% on certain domestic routes and up to 16% on internal routes”.

Verdict: The battle among the cheaper rates of airlines fare is likely to benefit the customers who often travel by air. Promotional discounts, last minute low cost and many such strategies are going to attract more customers which shall help airlines build good customer base and handsome profits. This shall be interesting to see how far the battle goes and benefits customers the most.
